Privacy notice

This notice explains what HMRC does with the information you give us when you use this service.

What we collect

your name, address and date of birth
your National Insurance number and Unique Taxpayer Reference, if you give it
your answers about your cryptoassets, including wallet addresses and exchange accounts

We use your answers to work out whether you need to report cryptoassets on your Self Assessment tax return, and which records you need to keep.

We keep your answers for 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline for the tax year they relate to, in line with record keeping rules.

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, and to have mistakes corrected. Contact HMRC to do this.

This service does not store your data on the device you use, except for your cookie choice.
